The processor chip is labeled as a little bit more recent model amount however it and the GPU are likely the same pace as the 3GS. The old Touch using the same Processor and GPU since the 3G was faster. Besides getting the clock pace turned up greater the Contact has less software to run since it?s not a phone. It ought to do better than any iPhone to this day in performance.

Steve, I moved to AT&T and the iPhone 3G on May 11th and they allowed me to upgrade to the 3G S on Launch Day for a fair price plus the restocking fee plus tax - not too shabby!

I like all that you've mentioned, but I think that my favorite feature is the voice command. I use it primarily for phone dialing. Unlike other voice dialing I've used, there's no need to program by phone. If I say "Call Ed" and there are more than one Ed, it asks me which one, and I just answer the question. When the right Ed is located, the voice asks me if I want home, work or mobile - and I just answer the question. If someone is in my contacts, that's all that's needed.

I haven't tried it yet for music. It will play music on command, but the really kewl thing is that it will tell me what music is playing if it "hears" the music, including from an outside source.

The speed and the landscape keyboard are, to be sure, great advantages. All I need to do is remember to have my reading glasses available.

Thanks for the report!

Best regards, oboe
